Amorim started playing handball at the age of 11 at Colégio Barão do Rio Branco. In 2002 he started playing in Metodista , São Bernardo, who was second in the Brazilian league. He moved to Europe in February 2006 and began to run the ball in Macedon Kometal Skopje. In Kometal, where he spent three and a half seasons, Amorim suffered three Macedonian championships.
